CAAN withdraw its decision of operating late-night flights in domestic sector

Kathmandu: The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has decided to allow domestic airlines to fly according to the old slots.

The CAAN had sent a letter to the airlines on Thursday instructing them to bring the flight schedule till 12 am but the flight schedule on Friday was not approved.

However, the airline operators’ association issued a statement warning that all flights would be suspended if the new schedule was forcibly implemented.

CAAN has decided to operate flights from 6 am to 12 am at Tarai (night flight) airport from Friday. However, despite the CAAN’s implementation, the airlines were not ready to fly and after a tripartite discussion led by Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Prem Ale, it was agreed to fly according to the old schedule for some time period.
