Kathmandu: Brazil and Spain are set to compete for men’s soccer gold at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in Japan.
In the semi-finals on Tuesday, Brazil defeated Mexico and Spain defeated Japan to secure the final.
Brazil is also the former winner. Reaching the final for the third time in a row, Brazil defeated 2012 gold medalists Mexico 4-1 in a penalty shootout.
In the second semi-final, Spain defeated Japan 1-0. Marco Asensio scored the decisive goal in extra time.
Now the game between Brazil and Spain for gold will be held next Saturday. Before that, a bronze medal match will be played between Mexico and Japan on Friday.
