Kathmandu: Authorities have imposed a 15-day night travel ban along the BP Highway citing heightened risks from monsoon-related disasters.
A joint meeting of inter-district security coordination committees from Kavrepalanchowk, Sindhuli, and Ramechhap districts reached the decision to enforce the restriction from 6:30 PM to 5:00 AM daily.
The ban will implement to all vehicles except cargo trucks.
According to Kavrepalanchowk District Administration Office, the highway section from Kavre Bhanjyang to Khurkot in Sindhuli has been marked as particularly vulnerable. The heavy rainfall has eroded parts of the road, making night travel especially dangerous.
