Big tech companies pay Rs 415 mn in taxes to Nepal

Kathmandu: In the last fiscal year 2023/24, 18 major social media and tech companies paid Rs 415 million in taxes to the Nepal government.

These companies include Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Google, Microsoft, TikTok, Adobe, Netflix, Amazon, and Apple. They earned Rs 2.76 billion by providing electronic services in Nepal.

According to the Large Taxpayer Office, a part of this revenue was paid as tax to the government.
