Kathmandu: The Bagmati province has made arrangements for the company providing ride sharing service to be registered within this year.
Through the Fiscal Bill 2022, the Bagmati province government has made it compulsory to register the vehicles used for the purpose of ride sharing service.
According to the fiscal bill, the process of obtaining permission will be determined by the Ministry of Transport in the province.
The bill stipulates that companies that have previously operated ride-sharing apps must register within April,2023. The government had repeatedly tried to stop such services by saying that it is illegal to carry passengers on private vehicles.
However, the provincial government has decided to make it legal and regulate it.
