Kathmandu: The bank account of the ruling Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) is likely to be blocked. After the internal dispute, only the formal announcement of partition is left to be made. Until the dispute of the CPN is resolved, all the bank accounts will be blocked.
According to the Nepal Rastra Bank both the parties will be barred from operating the account until the decision of the Election Commission is taken. Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and Madhav Nepal had signed a letter to the banks saying that there was a dispute within the party and it was not clear who would have the right to the property.
The NRB has stated that the account will be blocked from now on as there is a practice of blocking the joint account until the dispute is resolved.
