Kathmandu: Samsung today announced it is collaborating with Him Electronics, its long-time partner in Nepal, to start a television factory in Nawalparasi.
A function with traditional rituals were held in Nawalparasi on Wednesday to announce the factory’s foundation.
The Minister for Industries, Commerce & Supplies, Dilendra Prasad Badu and Samsung Electronics Global President & chief Financial Officer, HK Park were present on the occasion.
Production at the new plant is expected to start in 2023. Samsung has been in Nepal since 1997.
It currently sells consumer electronics products such as televisions, refrigerators, washing machines, microwaves and smartphones in the Nepal market through its partner.
