Kathmandu: Finance Minister Janardan Sharma has resigned from his post.
He resigned on a meeting of the House of Representatives on Wednesday.
Sharma resigned after being accused of making a serious mistake by introducing an unauthorized person while manipulating tax rates during budget formulation.
After the parliament formed an 11-member inquiry committee to probe him today, Sharma claimed that te is innocent but had guided him to resign after the formation of the committee.
He also expressed his commitment to assist the investigation committee.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has been decided to handle the Ministry of Finance until further notice.
