Kathmandu: The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has directed to make two pilots mandatory in VIP helicopter flights.
The CAAN has issued the six-point directive on Sunday to further strengthen flight safety and make flight operations more systematic.
CAAN has asked the government of Nepal to make two pilots mandatory on helicopter flight of VIPs.
Meanwhile, airlines have been instructed to operate an automated system for flight safety risk assessment and risk mitigation, using helicopters before each flight.
It has also been directed to make arrangements for the security of every flight from such system taking into account the weather conditions, flight duration, experience of the helicopter pilot, geographical conditions and other conditions.
