Kathmandu: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Lumbini on the day of Buddha Jayanti at the invitation of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Modi will arrive in Lumbini on Monday at the invitation of Deuba and the Prime Ministers of the two countries will jointly offer prayers at the Mayadevi Temple.
The Center for Buddhist Culture and Heritage also has a joint foundation stone laying program. Afterward, Deuba and Modi will address a special ceremony at the recently completed International Buddhist Meditation Center in Lumbini.
Prime Minister Deuba and Modi will also discuss various issues related to Nepal-India relations. Prime Minister Deuba will host a luncheon in honor of Modi.
