Kathmandu: Nepal defeated Papua New Guinea (PNG) by two wickets in the one-day series of the ICC World Cricket League-2.
Nepal reached the target of 205 runs set by PNG at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by losing eight wickets in 49 overs.
Rohit Poudel and Arif Sheikh scored 58 and 54 runs respectively for Nepal. Similarly, Karan KC scored 29, Asif Sheikh 16, Binaya Bhandari 12, Dipendra Singh Airy and Sompal Saman eight, Gyanendra Malla four and Kushal Bhurtel give one run.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, PNG lost eight wickets in 50 overs and scored 204 runs.
Nepal will play its second match of the series against UAE on Friday, the third match against UAE.
