Kathmandu: The death toll from floods, landslides and inundation caused by incessant rains over the past four days has reached 77. The number of missing persons has reached 26 and the number of injured has reached 22.
According to the Home Ministry, the landslide has caused the most human damage in Panchthar district. At least 24 people have been killed and six others injured in a landslide in Panchthar district alone.
Ilam has become the district with the highest number of human casualties after Panchthar. At least 13 people have been killed and two others injured in a landslide in Ilam district while three others are missing.
Similarly, 12 people have been killed and five others injured in a landslide in Doti district.
A similar landslide has killed seven people in Dhankuta, six in Humla and four in Baitadi.
Similarly, landslides and floods have killed 2-2 people in Bajhang, Sunsari and Udayapur and one each in Kalikot, Dadeldhura, Pyuthan, Solukhumbu and Morang.
The floods and landslides have injured six in Panchthar, five each in Dhankuta and Doti, two each in Baitadi and Ilam, and one each in Kalikot and Dadeldhura.
