Kathmandu: Garbage piled up in the Kathmandu Valley will be picked up from Wednesday. A meeting convened by Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Bidhya Sundar Shakya, Chief District Officer of Kathmandu, Director General of Roads Department, Senior Superintendent of Police and others has decided to pick up garbage from tomorrow.
Mayor Shakya said that the decision has been taken to pick up garbage from tomorrow even in the midst of the problem of dumping site as there is a risk of other problems due to the non-collection of garbage for a long time. He said that coordination is being made with other agencies to solve the problem of dumping site and the garbage will be picked up from tomorrow.
The stench has increased due to the accumulation of garbage in various roads of the Kathmandu Valley including Kathmandu Metropolitan City.
