Kathmandu: The Nepal Telecomunication Authority (NTA) has directed the private mobile service provider Ncell to refund the fee charged for providing the service without the user’s permission. The board meeting of the Nepal Telecommunication Authority has directed Ncellto return Rs 1.11 billion.
Ncell has been instructed to refund the amount collected from the customer through the service called ‘Gameloft’ and ‘Huawei App Gallery’ by automatically renewing it.
According to NTA, it had earned Rs 1.11 billion excluding taxes. NEA had cut off a letter to Ncell asking why no action would be taken. An explanation was again sought from Ncell on this issue.
Ncell, on the other hand, said that the balance service on the mobile was used to pay for the purchase as it was a third-party service.
Ncell has to return Rs 1.11 billion illegally taken to the customer’s mobile within three months.
