“Vaccine procurement is a responsibility of the federal govt”

Kathmandu: Ministry of Health and Population has said that the vaccine procurement is the responsibility of the federal government.

The government has asked the local governments not to buy the vaccine against COVID-19 separatrly by themselves.

The government’s decision came at a time when some local governments are requesting the Ministry of Health and Population to make arrangements for the purchase of vaccines.

Stating that the responsibility for controlling the corona epidemic lies with the federal government, the government has already announced that it will vaccinate all citizens, and has asked the local government to facilitate the ministry’s work.

Birgunj Metropolitan City, Rampur Municipality of Palpa and others had written a letter to the Ministry of Health seeking permission to buy the vaccine.
