Kathmandu: Nepal is still ranked 171st in the FIFA rankings.
Nepal remains in the latest rankings made public by FIFA, the apex body of world football, on Thursday.
The Nepali national team, which is preparing for the joint selection of the FIFA World Cup and the AFC Asian Cup, is currently in Iraq for a friendly match. Nepal is playing a friendly match against former Asian champions and 68th ranked Iraq on Saturday.
India and Maldives are ahead of Nepal in South Asian nations. India is ranked 105th and Maldives 155th. After Nepal, Bangladesh is ranked 184th, Bhutan 187th, Pakistan 199th and Sri Lanka 204th.
There has been no change in the top ten of the world rankings.
European nation Belgium remains at the top while world champion France is in second place. Brazil is third, England fourth, Portugal fifth, Spain sixth, Italy seventh, Argentina eighth, Uruguay ninth and Denmark tenth.
