Kathmandu: The government announced prohibitory order in three districts of Kathmandu Valley —Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur starting from April 30.
On Sunday, the secretariat of the Covid-19 Crisis Management Center (CCMC) had suggested a ban in the Valley. A meeting of the Chief District Officers of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur districts of the Kathmandu Valley on Monday has decided to issue a prohibitory order in the valley.
As per the order issued by the Chief District Officers, all the shops except food, medicine and health shops will be closed from April 30 for a week.
All kinds of meetings, conferences, seminars, cinema halls, party palaces, swimming pools, shopping malls, entertainment venues, salons, beauty parlors, gymnasiums, group games, libraries, museums and zoos will be closed in Kathmandu Valley. Public and private vehicles other than those providing essential services will be closed.
Similarly, the order states that the food shop will be open till 10 am and from 5 pm to 7 pm. The grocery room of the department store will be available from 10 am to 5 pm.
Government offices, banks and financial institutions and other essential service providing offices will be operated. Government employees, banks and financial institutions and employees working in other essential services will be able to move around by showing their identity cards.
In the case of marriage and other cultural rituals, it is mentioned in the order that up to 15 people can participate with the permission of the administration office to follow the health standards.
Vehicles carrying essential supplies, ambulances carrying sick people, vehicles used by health workers and security agencies will be allowed to operate.
Similarly, ambulances, drinking water, health, food, vegetables, fruits, dairy products, banks, financial institutions, telecommunications, internet, quarantine, isolation, garbage management and other means of transportation will also be allowed to operate.
Vehicles of government offices will be allowed to operate with the permission of the concerned department. The Chief District Officer will issue the manpower and materials used in the development work on the basis of the recommendation of the head of the project or office concerned.
Passengers going abroad from international flights will be able to drive to the airport if they show air ticket, passport and visa.
