Kathmandu: This year has witnessed the worst wildfire in history.
According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, more than 4,000 places across the country have been on fire since last October.
This is the highest number of fires in Nepal since the record was set, This time, fire has broken out in all 77 districts of seven provinces.
The fire killed five people and damaged thousands of livestock and thousands of hectares of land. According to the authority 60 percent of the fires were caused by people, 30 percent due to negligence and 10 percent due to vigilance.
The fire that broke out in Shivpuri-Nagarjuna National Park was brought under control with the help of the army, police, locals, fire brigade and helicopters on Sunday.
