Kathmandu: The Airline Operators Association of Nepal, an umbrella organization of airlines, has increased air fares along with the rise in the price of aviation fuel.

As per the decision, the airline affiliated to the association will implement the new fuel price from March 22. The association has stated that the price of aviation fuel has been adjusted as the regulator has received approval from the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal. According to the new price, the price has been increased from Rs 65 per liter to Rs 67 per liter.
According to the spokesperson of the association, Yograj Kandel Sharma, the airfares for all the destinations have been slightly increased due to the increase in the price of aviation fuel. According to him, the price of aviation fuel has gone up by Rs 90 for the longest destination, Kathmandu-Dhangadhi. The minimum fare from Kathmandu to the nearest destination has been increased by Rs 10, while mountain flights from Kathmandu have been increased by Rs 70.
