Kathmandu: Tourism activities, which have been halted for a long time, are gradually resuming in the country. In this context, the permission for mountaineering has also increased.
According to the Department of Tourism, a total of nine teams have taken permission to climb the mountain in the winter season till Sunday.
Forty-three climbers from nine teams have been granted permission to climb this season. Most of them are going for Manaslu (8163 m).
According to the Department of Tourism, 16 climbers of the two teams have taken permission for the mt Manaslu. Eleven members of a team have taken permission to climb Thapa Peak (6012 m). Eight members of the two teams are going to climb Amadablum.
According to the department, three people have been allowed to climb Luja Peak, one in Kyangu Rima, two in Surma Sarovar, and two in Rokapi. So far, the department has collected Rs. 879,000 in royalties for climbing permits. The winter season is considered to be the season to prepare before going to climb Mt. Everest.
