Kathmandu: The commission investigating the suppression of the Gen-Z movement and the subsequent arson incidents has asked the Social Welfare Council (SWC) to submit details of foreign assistance received by national and international non-governmental organizations (NGOs and INGOs) over the past year.
Commission Chairperson Gauri Bahadur Karki confirmed the request, saying it was part of the ongoing inquiry. The commission’s move follows growing questions about the role and funding of certain organizations and individuals active during the Gen-Z protests.
According to officials, the SWC holds records only of NGOs operating with foreign aid, while those funded domestically report to their respective District Administration Offices.
