Govt decides to transfer budgets for reconstruction, economic recovery

Kathmandu: In view of the urgency of reconstructing public infrastructures, providing relief materials and forwarding economic recovery after the Gen-Z protest, the government has decided to transfer budgets. Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Jagdish Kharel, shared this information as the Cabinet decisions during a press meet on Friday.

The budget transfer was aimed at addressing the problems in the adverse situation. It would be spent for holding election to the House of Representatives and reviving economy, he added.

Similarly, a team would be formed under the leadership of joint secretary at Finance Ministry to hold dialogue with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) on receiving the grant of 100 million US dollars for the project on strengthening public finance management and effectiveness of service delivery.

An energy bond of Rs 20 billion would be issued phase wise for the management of resources at Nepal Electricity Authority. Ilam district has been declared the disaster emergency zone for three months. The government also made decisions on some foreign visits of Nepali delegates to attend the international events and transfer of civil employees.
