Charred body recovered from Koteshwor Bhatbhateni, death toll rises to 74

Kathmandu: Police have recovered a charred body from the Koteshwor branch of Bhatbhateni Supermarket, which was torched and vandalized during the Gen Z protests on September 9.

According to Kathmandu District Police Office, the body was found on Wednesday in a completely burned state and has yet to be identified. The discovery raises the confirmed death toll from the protests to 74.

Earlier, police had recovered seven charred bodies from the Chucchepati branch of Bhatbhateni. Those remains, still unidentified, are being kept at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj.
