Redmi launches new smartwatches in Nepal, targeting active lifestyle users

Kathmandu: Global technology brand Xiaomi has introduced two new smartwatches in Nepal under its Redmi sub-brand, expanding options in the country’s growing wearable market.

The Redmi Watch 5 Active and Redmi Watch 5 Lite with GNSS aim to address consumer demand for longer battery life, precise navigation, and durable designs, the company announced.

The Redmi Watch 5 Active, priced at Rs. 4,999, features a 2-inch display, 18-day battery life powered by a 470 mAh battery, voice-activated Alexa support, and over 140 sports modes. Built with a metallic body for impact resistance, it also supports Bluetooth calling and outdoor use in varying weather conditions.

For users seeking advanced navigation, the Redmi Watch 5 Lite with GNSS is priced at Rs. 7,499. It includes support for five satellite networks, a 1.96-inch AMOLED display, dual microphones for clearer calls, and 5ATM water resistance. The device also offers over 150 workout modes, designed for fitness and adventure enthusiasts.

Nepal’s smartwatch market has seen rapid growth in recent years, driven by increasing awareness of health and fitness tracking. Industry observers say Redmi’s latest offerings reflect the shift toward practical, feature-driven wearables in the mid-range segment.
