Kathmandu: Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) has successfully concluded its participation in the Beijing International Tourism Expo (BITE) 2025, making a lasting impression on both travel trade professionals and potential Chinese travelers. The event took place from June 27 to 29 at the China International Exhibition Centre, Chaoyang District, Beijing.
NTB’s presence at BITE served as a strategic platform to promote Nepal’s diverse tourism offerings. The first two days were focused on B2B networking, while the final day engaged the general public through B2C interactions. Located at Booth 6B12 in Hall 6, the Nepal Pavilion attracted a steady stream of visitors and was honored with the prestigious “Best Popularity Award” for its outstanding engagement and appeal.
Visitors and trade partners expressed strong interest in Nepal’s soft adventure experiences, spiritual and cultural circuits, and short-haul getaways. Many trade queries centered around flight connectivity, popular trekking routes, seasonal travel tips, and value-for-money packages—reflecting a growing demand from China’s high-end travel segment.
NTB also hosted a dedicated destination presentation on the sidelines of the expo, highlighting Nepal’s readiness to welcome visitors with its unique blend of natural beauty, cultural richness, adventure opportunities, and warm hospitality. A fun quiz session was organized with attendees, with winners receiving handmade Nepali souvenirs.
On the second day, Minister of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Deepak Khadka, accompanied by Roshan Khanal, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of Nepal in Beijing, and other embassy officials, visited the Nepal Pavilion. The Minister commended the unified efforts of NTB and the participating companies for enhancing Nepal’s image as a leading travel destination and encouraged continued engagement in China’s key urban markets.
Several private travel companies joined NTB in the fair, including Pearl Holidays, Outshine Adventure, Nepal Himalayan International Travel Company, Journey DMC, Himalaya Safety Treks & Expedition, Dragon Holidays, Accessible Adventure, and Friends Adventure Team. NTB officials Suman Ghimire and Gopal Bhandari also held meaningful sideline discussions with representatives from Maldives and Saint Petersburg, Russia to explore bilateral tourism promotion opportunities.
Nepal’s strong presence at BITE 2025 has not only reaffirmed its appeal in China’s outbound tourism market but also strengthened bilateral ties and trade partnerships. NTB is optimistic that these engagements will lead to increased tourist arrivals and enriched experiences for Chinese travelers exploring Nepal.
