Kathmandu: Minister for Education, Science, and Technology, Bidhya Bhattarai, has resigned from her position.
According to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, Minister Bhattarai submitted her resignation to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli during a meeting held at Baluwatar on Sunday.
Her resignation comes at a time when teachers from across the country have been staging a protest in Kathmandu for the past 20 days, demanding the enactment of the School Education Act. Despite holding discussions with the education minister, the speaker, and the prime minister, the protesting teachers have continued their agitation.
