Gold prices drop by Rs 2,600 per tola in Nepali market

Kathmandu: The price of gold in the domestic market decreased by Rs 2,600 per tola on Tuesday, settling at Rs 148,700 per tola, according to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Associations.

This follows a significant decline of Rs 15,900 per tola on Monday, which was attributed to the government’s decision to reduce the gold import tariff from 20 percent to 10 percent. Earlier, on October 31, gold prices had surged to an all-time high of Rs 171,000 per tola.

In addition, the price of silver has also seen a decrease, falling by Rs 25 per tola. Silver is now being traded at Rs 1,820 per tola, down from Rs 1,845 per tola the previous day.

Market analysts expect further fluctuations in precious metal prices as global and local factors continue to influence market trends.
