Kathmandu: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) will hold an exclusive sale of gold coins on Tuesday, October 29, in celebration of Dhanteras. Each gold coin weighs 2.5 grams and will be available for public purchase.
Sales will commence at 11 AM and continue until 4 PM, subject to the availability of stock. In addition, silver coins and medallions will be available from October 27 to October 30, with a limit of five silver coins per purchaser.
Customers can choose from five types of silver coins, including a 25-gram cow coin, a 10-gram cow coin, a 10-gram Laxmi coin, a 10-gram Ganesh coin, and a 10-gram Gajalaxmi coin.
The NRB has announced an increase in prices for silver medallions this year, with costs rising between Rs 200 to Rs 650 for each coin and medallion.
Dhanteras and Dhanvantari will be observed on October 30, marking a traditional time for purchasing gold and silver items.
