Nepali Army confirms safety of personnel in UN Peacekeeping Mission in Lebanon

Kathmadu: The Nepali Army (NA) has confirmed that all its personnel deployed in the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Lebanon are safe.

NA spokesperson Gaurav Kumar KC reported that the army maintains regular communication with its security forces in the region, ensuring that all members are unharmed.

However, KC noted that sporadic incidents in the area have disrupted the daily operations of the mission. He emphasized that the NA will adhere to directives from the United Nations and mission headquarters regarding the evolving situation in Lebanon. Currently, there are 877 NA personnel serving as peacekeepers in the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).
