Kathmandu: The bodies of five Russian climbers who tragically perished while ascending Dhaulagiri on October 5 have been successfully brought to Kathmandu.
Rescuers recovered the climbers’ bodies from an altitude of 7,600 meters and transported them to the base camp.
An Altitude Air helicopter was used to airlift the bodies to the capital, where they have been taken to the Tribhuvan University (TU) Teaching Hospital for examination. The incident has drawn attention to the challenges and dangers associated with high-altitude climbing in the region.
