ANFA to support families of landslide victims

Kathmandu: The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has announced that it will provide NPR 800,000 to each family of the six players who tragically lost their lives in a landslide in Indrasarobar Rural Municipality, Makwanpur.

During an emergency meeting held on Sunday, ANFA decided to extend this financial assistance to the families of Aditya Balampakhi, Bikal Regmi, Priyans Acharya, Divash Baniya, Anupam Ghalan, and Simon Yonzan, who were training at the Vatsalyadevi Academy in Sisneari.

In addition to the monetary support, ANFA will establish an endowment fund of NPR 200,000 in the name of each player, to be set up in a location and area chosen by their families. ANFA spokesperson Suresh Shah also announced that a girls’ school tournament will be organized in memory of the six players.

To investigate the circumstances surrounding the players’ deaths, ANFA has formed a committee led by central committee member Dhan Narayan Shrestha. This initiative aims to ensure a thorough examination of the tragic incident.
