CIAA raids CAAN amid corruption investigation

Kathmandu: A team from the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has raided the office of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) in Sinamangal, seizing several “important” documents. The raid took place on Wednesday as part of an ongoing investigation into suspected irregularities within CAAN.

The CIAA has been looking into complaints regarding irregularities associated with various airport construction projects and CAAN’s own building. Sources indicate that the raid was prompted by the failure to provide necessary documentation related to this investigation.

In addition, the CIAA has been investigating Pradeep Adhikari, the Director General of CAAN, over allegations of his involvement in these irregularities.
