FNCCI launches major initiative to boost start-up entrepreneurship

Kathmandu: In a bid to bolster start-up entrepreneurship in Nepal, the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) has unveiled a significant investment initiative.

At the inaugural session of ‘Startup Nation 2030’ held on Wednesday, FNCCI President Chandra Prasad Dhakal announced the establishment of a new investment company with a capital of Rs 10 billion.

This newly formed company, established under the FNCCI’s initiative, will operate autonomously and has the flexibility to invest in a range of businesses. Dhakal emphasized the critical role of both domestic and foreign direct investment in driving the nation’s economic growth and prosperity.

Highlighting the importance of fostering a supportive environment for startups, Dhakal proposed the creation of an Incubation Center and an Innovation Center aimed specifically at young entrepreneurs.

He also revealed that the FNCCI is working with the Sudurpaschim Province Government and the Kailali Chamber of Commerce and Industry to establish an Incubation Center to further support emerging businesses.
