Kathmandu: On Wednesday, civil society members and human rights activists gathered outside the Embassy of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh in Kathmandu to stage a demonstration.
The protestors, wielding various placards, voiced their demands for the protection of the right to peaceful assembly, an end to the suppression of freedom of expression, and accountability for recent violent incidents in Bangladesh.
The demonstration comes amidst escalating tensions in Bangladesh, where ongoing anti-quota protests have resulted in approximately 200 fatalities and 100 injuries. The activists called for international attention to the crisis and urged for immediate action to address the situation.
