Kathmandu: Starting this evening, the Kailali border crossing will be temporarily closed in light of the Lok Sabha elections in India.
District Administration Office in Kailali, confirmed that the closure started at 6 PM today. This measure is in response to the elections scheduled for May 13 in Uttar Pradesh’s Kheri district.
The border crossing will remain inaccessible until the conclusion of the voting process. As per protocol, border crossings are typically closed 72 hours ahead of elections in both Nepal and India.
