Kathmandu: The European Union (EU) has announced its commitment to aid Nepal in attracting investment. EU Ambassador to Nepal, Veronique Lorenzo, revealed plans for the upcoming ‘EU-Nepal Trade Forum’ in Kathmandu aimed at bolstering European investment in Nepal.
During a reception commemorating the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Nepal and the EU, Ambassador Lorenzo highlighted the forum scheduled for May 15-16. She emphasized its focus on addressing Nepal’s foreign investment deficit and facilitating discussions among EU companies regarding potential investment sectors in Nepal.
Ambassador Lorenzo underscored Nepal’s aspiration to graduate from the list of least developed countries by 2026 and stressed the importance of fostering economic development and employment opportunities to achieve this milestone.
