Kathmandu: The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has unveiled plans to address bird-related hazards at airports by implementing an electronic bird deterrent system. This proactive move aims to enhance safety measures at all operational airports in Nepal.
In a recent announcement, CAAN issued a call for applications on Thursday, inviting interested companies to submit proposals by March 25. The decision to implement this electronic bird deterrent system stems from the recurrent issue of ‘bird hits’ impacting regular flights at various airports.
Furthermore, CAAN is gearing up to deploy state-of-the-art technology to control bird-related risks not only at domestic airports but also across all three international airports in Nepal. This strategic initiative showcases a commitment to ensuring aviation safety and mitigating potential threats associated with bird-related incidents.
