Kathmandu: The Nepali Congress initiates a comprehensive campaign aimed at engaging with citizens, gathering opinions, and fostering community dialogue in all seven provinces.
The campaign, named ‘Community and Congress Campaign,’ is set to run from Magh 16 to Magh 26, covering issues of civic interest and concerns. Representatives from the Congress will visit all 77 districts to facilitate interaction, opinion collection, and suggestion gathering. The central office has prohibited formal speeches by leaders during the campaign, emphasizing a focus on community-level dialogue.
Representatives are scheduled to conduct extensive meetings with district working committees during their district visits. The campaign includes various programs such as tree planting, environmental cleanup, riverside sanitation, educational and health camps, blood donation drives, and health-related activities. Congress General Secretary Gagan Thapa also announces the “MeChi-Mahakali Dialogue Tour,” aiming to conduct interviews with the public, listen to grievances, and engage with party workers.
The official events will avoid main roads and instead traverse rural highways during the tour. Additionally, district representatives, after reaching their respective districts, will conduct expanded meetings today and tomorrow, focusing on the detailed agenda of the district working committees.
The campaign includes civic engagement, suggestion and opinion collection, and community dialogue, as highlighted by Congress spokesperson Meen Bishwakarma. The campaign organizers have designed programs such as tree planting, asset cleanup, riverside sanitation, education camps, health camps, blood donation drives, and activities related to health.
The Congress has issued a directive to its publicity department, restricting formal programs, oath ceremonies, and leader speeches during the campaign. As part of the campaign, Congress leaders have been barred from delivering formal speeches, and the focus is on community interaction, opinion gathering, and suggestion collection. Meen Bishwakarma, Chief of the Congress Publicity Department, shared this information, emphasizing the informal nature of the campaign.
District representatives, after reaching their respective districts, will conduct expanded meetings today and tomorrow, focusing on the detailed agenda of the district working committees. During the campaign, three-tier government officials will be approached for civic engagement, suggestion and opinion collection, with the publicity department chief, Meen Bishwakarma, outlining the campaign schedule. In a related move, the Congress is concurrently running the ‘MeChi-Mahakali Dialogue Tour,’ led by Congress General Secretary Gagan Thapa. The tour aims to conduct interviews with the public, gather suggestions and grievances, and engage with party workers. The tour will avoid main roads, choosing rural highways for engagement.
