Kathmandu: In a significant development, the government of Nepal has officially declared the prohibition of the popular social network platform, TikTok. This decision was disclosed by Rekha Sharma, Government Spokesperson and Minister for Communication and Information Technology, following today’s cabinet meeting.
Expressing concerns about TikTok’s potential impact on social harmony, Minister Sharma emphasized the necessity of shutting down the platform. She clarified that the decision to ban TikTok would be implemented promptly, without specifying a particular deadline.
“While the technical implementation of the TikTok ban may take some time, the decision will indeed be enforced,” stated Minister Sharma.
