Kathmandu: The government has announced national mourning on Tuesday to pay condolence to 10 Nepalis who died in the Israeli attack .
The emergency meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Monday paid tribute to the deceased and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
After the meeting, Government Spokesperson and Minister of Communications Rekha Sharma said, “It has been decided to declare national mourning on October 10 and fly the national flag at half-mast in government offices and Nepalese missions abroad to show respect for the deceased Nepalis.”
According to her, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is preparing to bring the dead bodies as soon as possible in coordination with the Israeli government.
It has also been decided to provide Rs 10 lakh as relief to the families of the deceased. Likewise, Sudurpaschim province has announced to provide Rs 2 lakh as relief to the families of deceased. This amount will be provided by the Ministry of Finance in coordination with the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The Council of Ministers has also decided to speed up the search for missing Nepalis and coordinate the treatment of the injured in coordination and cooperation with the Israeli government.
So far, 200 Nepalis have registered their name at the embassy for rescue.
