Kathmandu: United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will visit Nepal.
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda’s secretariat has confirmed that Guterres, who will stay in Nepal for three days, will discuss the issues of climate change and least developed countries, including the peace process.
Although Guterres’ visit got confirmed the date has not been confirmed. Previously, in October 2008, the then Secretary General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon, visited Nepal.
PM Dahal was the prime minister at that time too. At that time, the Maoists came to the government in the first election after the peace process.
