Kathmandu: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has increased the gold import quota to 20 kg per day.
Earlier, only 10 kg of gold was allowed to be imported per day, but Nepal Rastra Bank issued a circular to the banks to allow them to import 20 kg of gold per day.
According to the new rule, businessmen who buy gold from the bank must submit the details of the gold they have sold and used, to the respective bank within seven days of the end of each month.
Gold dealers have been demanding to increase the quota saying that the import permit is less compared to the demand in the country.
