Kathmandu: A writ filed in the Supreme Court against Prime Minister and Chairman of CPN Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has been registered.
Advocate Gyanendra Raj Aran and Kalyan Budhathoki filed a writ against Prachanda on Tuesday.
On January 15, 2020, in a program held at Tundikhel in Kathmandu on the occasion of Maghi festival, Prachanda expressed that he took responsibility for only five thousand people who were killed during the people’s war.
An order has been demanded that investigation and action should be taken in criminal prosecution against this expression.
Earlier, the Supreme Court had decided not to register the petition filed in the Supreme Court.
The writ petition was submitted to the bench of Justices Ishwar Prasad Khatiwada and Hari Phuyal last Friday. The bench quashed the order of the writ petition and ordered the Supreme Court administration to register it.
Hearing on this case has been scheduled on Thursday.
