Kathmandu: America’s famous mountaineer Hilary Nelson has been found dead in Gorkha’s Manaslu mountain. Hilary, who was missing since Monday, has found dead this morning. Her body has been repatriated to Kathmandu in the afternoon.
According to the Department of Tourism, the body of 49-year-old American climber Hillary, who went missing while skiing in Manaslu, was found today. Hilary was lost in Bhimthang towards Manang.
Hilary’s body, which was found covered in snow, was rescued by the guides who came for the climb. Hilary, who skied from the peak of Choyu Mountain in 2005, holds a record for skiing down from two mountains higher than 8,000 meters, including Lhotse. In 2018, Hillary was listed as a brave athlete by National Geographic.
