Kathmandu: With a historic victory over India, Nepal has reached the finals of the Women’s SAFF Championship.
Nepal won 1-0 against India in the match at Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwar on Friday. This is the first time in the history of Women’s SAFF Championship that Nepal has defeated India.
Rashmikumari Ghising scored the decisive goal to win Nepal in the midst of thousands of supporters.
In the last minute of the first half, she scored the decisive goal through Priti Rai’s pass.
After taking the lead in the first half, Nepal started putting pressure on India from the beginning in the second half.
Now Nepal will play against Bangladesh on Monday for the title.
It is the fifth time that Nepal has reached the finals. Earlier, Nepal had lost to India in the final four times.
