Kathmandu: The police has arrested five people for producing fake alcohol in the name of famous brands.
The police has arrested Bhagwan Basnet of Bhimeshwar Municipality-8, 24-year-old Hari Oli of Kalinchok Rural Municipality of Dolakha, Bishal Oli of the same place, Manoj Khatri and Gopi Shrestha of Khanda Devi of Ramechhap.
The police received special information that they were producing fake liquor under different brand names. After the information, District Police Office Kathmandu raided two factories in Koteshwar and Duwakot.
The police informed that counterfeit liquor of Black Label, Red Label, Double Black, Jack Dennis, 8848 Vodka, Signature, Old Darbar, Golden Oak, Highlander Vodka, Blue Diamond and other brands were seized from Oli’s factory.
It is reported that the raw material used to make alcohol was also seized.
