5-member commission forms to probe Tara Air plane crash

Kathmandu: The government has formed a five-member commission to find out the cause of the Tara Air plane crash.
Senior Aeronautical Engineer Ratish Chandra Lal Suman is the Chairman of the Commission and in charge of Accident Investigation.

The members of the commission formed by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation are Captain Dipu Jwarchan, Senior Maintenance Engineer Upendra Lal Shrestha, Senior Meteorologist Mani Ratna Shakya and Technical Joint Secretary of the Ministry Buddhisagar Lamichhane.

The committee has a mandate to find out the cause of the accident and recommend measures to prevent such incidents from happening again in the future.

The Tara Air twin-engine plane that left Pokhara for Jomsom on Sunday had crashed at the base of Manapathi Himal in Mustang.

All 22 people on board were killed in the crash.
