Kathmandu: Three individuals have tested positive for COVID-19 in Sudurpaschim Province in the past 24 hours, according to data released by the Provincial Health Emergency Operations Centre on Wednesday afternoon.
The cases were identified during border screening at the Gauriphanta border crossing in Kailali district. All three individuals tested positive while entering Nepal.
In response to a recent surge in COVID-19 cases in neighboring India, Nepal has increased health and security measures at its border checkpoints to prevent the spread of the virus.
