Kathmandu: District Public Prosecutor’s Office has initiated legal action against 15 individuals implicated in a fraudulent scheme aimed at obtaining personal gains through the creation of counterfeit driving licenses. The case has been formally lodged at the Kathmandu District Court.
Among the accused is Keshav Aryal, formerly the head of the Transport Management Office, alongside several other officials and computer operators associated with various transport management offices throughout Nepal.
Specifically named in the charge-sheets are former computer operators of the Transport Management Office in Butwal, including Laxman Pandey, Gyanraj Pandey, Narayan Prasad Pandey, and Padmaraj Acharya. Additionally, the accused include Subas Paudel, Ramakrishna Shrestha (former computer operator in Kawasoti, Nawalparasi), Binod Bhandari (computer operator in Kaski), Rajesh Lamsal (non-commissioned officer in Chitwan), Bibek Bhandari (computer operator in Jhapa), and Dilip Kumar Shah (computer operator in Dhanusha).
This development marks a critical step in the legal proceedings aimed at addressing the alleged corruption and misuse of authority within Nepal’s transport management sector.
