Kathmandu: A total of 150,962 tourists have visited Nepal in 2021. According to the Nepal Tourism Board this number is 80,000 less than in 2020. In 2020, 230,085 tourists visited Nepal.
Outbreaks appear to be exacerbated during the early months of 2020. As a result, the number of tourists was higher in the first month and a half of that year.
There has been some improvement in the latter part of the year as the effects of the Corona epidemic have diminished and travel restrictions have eased. However, the recent omicron variant has again affected the arrivals.
